A FORMER Dunaverty Golf Club captain downed the first hole in one in the history of the Life boat Open competition. The 42nd playing of the match was held at Dunaverty on Saturday Septem ber 3 when 129 golfers took part on the rain-threatened day, with occasional showers splashing several of the golfers who braved the elements.

Donald Taylor had his hole in one at the seventh, believed to be the first ever hole in one at the Lifeboat Open. Kenny Cameron and Alan Crawford took the men’s handicap and scratch titles respectively, with Nichola MacNeil and Ailie MacBrayne taking the top spots in the ladies section.
