Why I love my Play Station 5
PlayStation 5: the most anticipated games
Lucy Orr makes the case for buying a PS5 rather than an Xbox Series X
I’VE always been a PC gamer, so the odds suggested that I would have considered picking up Microsoft’s latest console offering, but my mind was made up otherwise from the start. Working at the BBC in the early noughties as an interactive designer, I was invited to Broadcasting House’s innovation department to get hands on with an original Xbox before it was publicly released.
However, as soon as I held the controller it came with, which I considered bulky and unintuitive, I knew I’d always stay faithful to my PlayStation with its sleek design and angular, Gundam-like joypad. Anyway, Xboxes are for boys.
So, you can bet I was first in line clicking refresh on the Argos website as soon as PS5 stock went live. But in some ways, I was conflicted. The two consoles look strikingly different.
