An infamous competition to win a date with Prince is to become the subject of a film. MTV ran a contest in 1986 as part of a promotional campaign for the Under The Cherry Moon movie, offering a fan the chance to go out with the legend. 20-year-old Lisa Barber was the winner – and became the centre of a media frenzy when the Purple One travelled to meet her in her hometown of Sheridan, in rural Wyoming. Elizabeth Banks will produce and star in Queen For A Day, cataloguing Barber’s experience with Robyn Riggs, the publicist instrumental in putting the event together.
