CLAIRE RICHARDS
EUPHORIA
DEMON
★★★
Claire Richards’ 2019 solo debut came equipped with a scented candle, but a cheap, cheerful glitterball feels more appropriate for her covers follow-up. Orchestral closer Goodbye To Love aside, Euphoria is an unabashed Hi-NRG affair in which her diva faves are sent hurtling onto the dancefloor. Steps fans will already be familiar with covers of Dancing Queen and Celine Dion’s I Surrender, both live staples. But although Delta Goodrem and Andy Bell’s contributions provide an element of surprise, they can’t elevate this beyond glorified karaoke.
