Dancing Times  |  October 2013
As Dancing Times enters its 104th year of continuous publication, we thought it high time to give the magazine a bit of a “makeover”, so welcome to the first issue of our “new look”. We hope you like what you see and read, and look forward to any comments and suggestions you may have.
As you will notice, all our regular favourites remain as before, as does our extensive array of news, views and reviews covering all aspects of dance. This month, we give just a flavour of the many pictures found in Andrej Uspenski’s photographic portrait of the Russian ballerina Natalia Osipova in Becoming a Swan, published by Oberon Books; Zoë Anderson talks to dancer Jonathan Goddard about his forthcoming appearances as Count Dracula; and Laura Dodge takes a behind-the-scenes look at English National Ballet’s costume department as they prepare for its new production of Le Corsaire. Also this month, dancer and choreographer Matthew Hawkins reveals what is like to be on the receiving end of a review from a dance critic. Finally, we would like to inform you that Dancing Times is now available in over 150 branches of WH Smith – contact us if you would like to find out where.
