Despite the diverse populations found in the waters around our islands, an estimated 75 per cent of British fish and seafood sales is made up of just five species: salmon, cod, tuna, warm water prawns and haddock. Eating a diverse range of fish and seafood species – apart from the ‘big five’ – is a good way to take the pressure off overfished stocks, cutting ‘bycatch’ waste and letting you discover new flavours and textures.
