All About Type 3c Diabetes
Type 3c diabetes, also known as pancreatogenic diabetes, is a form of secondary diabetes caused by damage to the pancreas, which impacts its ability to produce insulin. Turn to page 118 to read about Kat’s experience with type 3c.
Primary diabetes, like type 1 and type 2, can have multiple causes, but develops due to issues with insulin production or action (typically insulin resistance or an autoimmune condition). Secondary diabetes differs in that it is caused by complications with medication, endocrine disease or hereditary disease.
