iam a proud Ontario, Canadian girl, stay-at-home mother and new to the art of miniatures. I first stumbled upon a miniaturist’s doll’s house three years ago and fell head over heels marvelling at the little world they had created.
I then began stalking other miniaturists’ work and dreaming of trying my hand at the craft. But I was hesitant because, as a mother, I often feel guilty about indulging myself. That was until I came across an ad for a doll’s house kit a local man was selling at a bargain price. I purchased the kit a twelfth scale Greenleaf Arthur, and so the adventure began.
I knew the house I envisioned would need a nice big front porch and a front peaking roof, both of which this house had to my delight.
Though no champagne bottle has been smashed upon it I have christened the home Foxfield Cottage. I wanted to create a modern farmhouse style.
