Dolls House World  |  Issue 341
It’s been sunny… then its been frosty .. then it’s been rainy. Fair to say that we haven’t had ideal conditions for getting out in the full-size garden.
But that’s why so many of you have been working on your mini gardens. Whatever the weather you can still work away in one twelfth, or smaller if you really want to put your eyesight to the test.
We take a look at some very different outside spaces this issue, from a beautiful walled garden to an elegant rooftop terrace to give you some inspiration.
We talk to a talented flower maker about how she overcame adversity to turn her hobby into a job she loves and some of our projects have a floral theme too. Make a wicker basket to display cut flowers — it would look wonderful perched on a rustic bench — and how about creating a lovely little birdhouse in gorgeous colours?
We’re packed with lots of other projects too, to suit all time frames. Kris Compas’s vintage suitcase is so stylish but will take a lot of time to make. If that’s something you’re short of have fun with a quick and easy painting or photo album.
Morgen Bearse spent a long time on her ‘Under African Skies’ project, but the result is quite spectacular and very different. But that’s what she was aiming for. She told us: “I don’t like doing what is expected. This piece came about by taking a part of me, or a part of who I want to be, and bringing it to life.”
Come rain or shine, that’s what we should all be aiming for in our miniatures.
