Put pedal to the metal for a macaron tower

A macaron tower provides an amazing centrepiece to any New Year celebration. Here’s how to make one with no fiddly polymer clay in sight BY DERI TERRY AND MICHELL BRYANT

this tutorial was a joint project completed by Michell and myself. We have devised an easy way to create miniature macaron cookies. We went another step further and created macaron towers, similar to real ones in popular french bakeries.

Instead of forming each half of the cookies from clay, we used metal brads, ensuring they are all a uniform size and colour. Although working with such tiny objects is tedious, it is our hope, that most miniaturists will find our method easier.
