The digital revolution is simplifying our lives in many ways. There is an app for everything today and investment is no exception. Traditionally a task best left to professionals has now been made less intimidating and more accessible, thanks to tech advancements. Increasing interest in sustainable and impact investing in particular, driven by ethically minded millennials and the new generation to large extent has fuelled the birth of a myriad of platforms aiming to cater for this demand. We met with Tom McGillycuddy, co-founder of Tickr, the new kid on the block, determined to show the world that one can make a positive social impact while generating attractive financial returns at the same time.
The millennial mission
Set up by two co-founders, Matt Latham and Tom McGillycuddy, both of whom are millennials with over eight years of experience in investment management gained at top establishments such as Barclays and Wellington Investment, Tickr is a new app based social investment platform enabling people to invest in listed global businesses focussed on and committed to positive social change and impact.
