The Classic TT was a proper good craic as it always is. Just in case you don't know, I was over on the Island racing for Team York Suzuki on their awesome XR69. We'd had a good time in practice, and the racing didn't go too bad either, finishing fifth despite missing a pit stop and making an unplanned stop on the last lap to check out some strong vibes that had developed. Turns out all was good, so I limped the bike home and finished just off the podium which I've now got my sights on firmly for next year.
Tango, Tango, Pepsi, Lilt...
With the racing rattled off, we booked a speedy flight home in the back on my mate Steve Heneghan's private plane. That boy's not just got skills on a bike; he can work his magic in the air, too! From one plane to another, I literally had time to cross my house's threshold before I was packed and headed to Dubai with my missus for a quick holiday. I love a piña colada as much as the next guy, but after a few hours by the pool I was desperate to get out on a dirt bike and explore the local deserts. I hooked up with Sam Smith of Big Red Tours Dubai, who took me on some mega routes on one of his KTM hire bikes. If you're ever out there, make sure to give that man a buzz.
