Naughty ‘n’ naked

These are exceptional times, and not just because of the coronavirus. Who would have ever believed we’d see a naked bike with 200bhp? With wings, wheelie control and more buttons to press than the keyboard I’m typing with? Ducati’s Streetfighter is nothing short of exceptional and the same can be said for the five other brutish, brilliant supernakeds we lined up to contest it in this very special issue. It’s rare you get a sextet of motorcycles so utterly bonkers, rapid and capable of smacking a smile broad across your face; but that’s what this lot do, albeit in their own special way. I’m not going to spill the beans right here, right now but I dare say the following 22 pages should prove pretty helpful to those of you trying to work out which scantily clad, audacious two-wheeler deserves a place in your garage.

Talking of garages and what you’ve got parked in them, thank you to all of those who’ve been in touch just recently to show us your bikes, what you’ve been up to and where you’ve been. It’s always great to see, and we thought it was only right that we returned the favour by letting you in on a brilliant UK road trip you should get on your bucket list. Hell, you could even go the whole hog and tackle it on a Goldwing, just like Boothy did. Then again, it’s not always best to follow his example, so Frodo’s speedy H2 SX, or my über comfy BMW K1600 with built-in stereo, sat nav and cup holders are other options you can explore.
