A new form of IVF that allows conception to occur in the womb, rather than a Petri dish, is being offered by the Complete Fertility private clinic in Southampton. The AneVivo device method involves a tiny capsule being loaded with the sperm and an egg, before being placed into the uterus. The idea is that a more natural conception process will lead to healthier pregnancies, but initial trials in 250 women suggest it is only as effective as traditional IVF.
