Propagate begonias by making cuttings using the leaf and stalk (petiole). The stalk has tissue that can grow both shoots and roots. A few plants can be propagated this way, including African violets and peperomias. This easy method is best done when the plant is in full growth. It takes four or five weeks for a young plantlet to emerge. Snip off the old leaf once the young plant is putting on lots of growth.
