Letter from the Editor

Pssst! You! Yes, you! Come a little closer, there’s something I need to whisper to you... Your makeup is TERRIBLE! How could we not pay tribute to the fabulous Alaska Thunderfuck? Her single, Your Makeup Is Terrible, is one of my all-time favourite songs and, of course, I love her Anus. We all know that’s the name of her debut album, right? It’s fitting that Alaska’s the cover girl for our second issue of Shade – given that she’s one of the biggest stars to come from RuPaul’s Drag Race. In a new, exclusive, interview we talk about life on the road, Drag Race All Stars and two of my other favourite things – Batman Returns and Divine. So it’s also fitting that elsewhere in this issue Divine’s best friend, legendary film maker John Waters, pays tribute to the most beautiful woman in the world.

About Gay Times

The world's biggest dragazine is back – with more queens than ever before! There's an exclusive interview with our cover girl, Alaska, as well as ALL 14 queens from season six of RuPaul's Drag Race, including Adore Delano, Courtney Act and Bianca Del Rio. Elsewhere, legendary film maker John Waters talks about his friend and star, drag legend Divine. We go on set with The Supreme Fabulettes, catch up with Conchita and talk farewell tours with Dame Edna Everage. Plus: RuPaul looks back on her classic Christmas drag album, Ho, Ho, Ho, Willam looks to the future and we have an exclusive chat with Drag Race UK Ambassador, The Vivienne. Have a Shady Christmas!
