As I write this article, we are fast approaching the end of the year. My children are on a Halloween and Bonfire Night sugar rollercoaster that I can see lasting well into Christmas before exploding on Christmas Eve. We 50 GLUTEN-FREE HEAVEN JANUARY have all had at least a sniffle or two and vegetables are tantamount to a dirty word in the eyes of my seven-year-old. You’ve guessed it, something has to change.
For the last few months, I have noticed a change in how we are eating as a family. With the whirlwind of afterschool clubs and Christmas festivities approaching, there have been a number of occasions where an easy tea has been required and this is slowly making me lazy. So, things are going to change in this gluten-free household and the cookbooks are already being dusted off, with two of my favourites being River Cottage Gluten Free by Naomi Devlin and for lunch boxes, Healthy Lunchboxes for Kids by Amanda Grant is a must too. Both are full of family-friendly ideas that are both easy and practical.
