Does anyone else feel spring in the air yet? I certainly can and I cannot wait. There are seeds to be planted in the garden, a loft to clear out, the barbecue (too soon?) to clean down and the permanence of the tumble dryer turning over to come to a seasonal end. This time last year ’The Beast From The East’ rolled in and so gazumped any early-spring plans, but I’m confident (I have no scientific evidence or any rational reason to be confident) that we are on the brink of turning the corner. I am no longer getting up in the dark and returning home in the dark which gives me a lift, and, we’ve had the one snow day I’m happy for now this year so please stay away Siberia.
These lighter mornings also mean that we can enjoy our breakfasts more, which is why we have a bumper section dedicated to delicious (and sometimes decadent) dishes on page 12. We follow that up with a taste test on page 68 that goes through a few of the great gluten-free breakfast options on the market. We also look at the best cafés on the high street on page 46, celebrate St Patrick’s Day on page 50 and see how to plan the perfect gluten-free wedding on page 70. Anyway, let’s pray for sunshine and I look forward to seeing you next issue!
