Golf Course Architecture  |  January 2014
The golf industry lives on dreamers, and few have dreamed more grandly or more often than Tasmania’s Greg Ramsay. Ramsay originally conceived the idea of Barnbougle Dunes, and, as he explains in the new issue of GCA, now has his finger in any number of golf development pies across his native Australia and further afield. The Dutch Swinkels brothers are perhaps less inclined to dream, but their good sense has seen them move successfully from farming to golf development and operations, as our profile of their course, De Swinkelsche, shows. Plus, we look at the importance of municipal golf courses, for so many years the engine of the game's growth, visit Penati in Slovakia and Tom Doak explains the genesis of the new Punchbowl putting course at Bandon Dunes.
