By the end of this month we will know if Porsche’s new 919 Hybrid LMP1 racer is in a position to the take the fight to the mighty Audi and Toyota factory teams or if it’s there to make up the numbers. On 20th April the talking stops and the racing starts and Porsche’s return to top-flight sports car racing will be under way.
In preparation for its debut the team has been flat-out and in the May 2014 issue of GT Porsche we bring you a taste of that fever. We joined the team as they revealed the car to the world at the Geneva Motor Show, we’ve interviewed the men who will be in the pit garage, on the pit wall and in the cockpit and we’ve even made a pilgrimage from Silverstone to Le Mans in a Porsche hybrid. It’s been quite a month for Porsche Motorsport and the fun has only just begun.
