These Aussie ex-pats aim to bring some light and shade back to the heavy rock sphere – and they won’t be short of numbers to help achieve it…

There aren’t too many nine-piece rock bands, so it makes sense that Other Animals’ six guys and three girls came together in unusual circumstances. “Well it started with this party that Dave [Adams, vocals/bass/guitar] and Loz [flute/vocals] hosted in Melbourne, which is remembered affectionately as ‘Crazy Sunday’,” chuckles guitarist Jaron Mullholland. “The party started on Friday and ended on Monday. Long story short, it was a productive weekend; Mikey [Godde, vocals/keys] stole Dave’s band and Dave stole Mikey’s songs!”
