Drinking partners?

NEW RESEARCH LOOKING at alcohol consumption over more than a century has revealed women are matching men almost drink for drink. Men used to be far more likely to drink alcohol than women – and in unhealthy quantities – but now the gap is closing. Men born between 1891 and 1910 were more than twice as likely as females to drink alcohol. Yet there was little difference in drinking habits in males and females born between 1991 and 2000. The findings serve as a reminder that it’s important for both sexes to stick to the maximum of 14 alcohol units a week.
