I actually quite like the post- Christmas part of winter, though I know most of the country will probably disagree. It’s cosy and uneventful, and brings us just a little bit closer to spring. That said, I do need food that will keep me cheerful on damp or gloomy days, and these recipes are the ones that I turn to. The noodle soup can be made as fiery as you need, as can the curry, while the sesame slaw is a welcome change to all the slow-cooked rich food of the last couple of months.
