I’m just going to say it: New Year’s resolutions can be irritating. The idea that January – the month notorious for being cold and grey – is the optimum time for making seismic changes just seems like you’re setting yourself up for failure.

While fresh starts and goal-setting are undeniably alluring, we need to find a different way to implement change where you don’t lose your gym membership card somewhere between the front door and the sofa by week two.
