Full of beans
New research shows that coffee is fuelling the nation, with Brits chugging an average of three cups a day. Along with increased longevity, reduced risk of type 2 diabetes, protecting against Parkinson’s disease and even helping to prevent liver cancer, coffee also makes people like you more (and not just because you’re a grouchy monster before that first sip). According to a new study, participants who drank coffee thought more highly of their peers following a group task than the control group. The caffeinated group also performed better, with increased focus and discussion (no surprises there). And the perfect time to drink your morning cup? 10am, as levels of stress hormone cortisol have dipped. Try Little’s Coconut Island Coffee (£2.99 for 50g), a creamy brew with natural flavouring.
