NOODLE NEWS
When archaeologists work on a dig, most are searching for precious or historic objects such as crockery or jewellery. But in 2005, on a site on the banks of China’s Yellow River, archaeologists came across an ancient foodstuff under the soil – a bowl of noodles. Radiocarbon dating put the well-preserved noodles at around 4,000-years-old. Understandably, none of their finders decided to dig in.
