Frances Densmore, a Smithsonian ethnomusicologist (a person who studies the music of different cultures), plays a song in Indian Plains language to Blackfoot Mountain Chief for him to interpret. Her work was of major importance, as at a time when the US government was trying to assimilate Native culture, she fought to preserve it and dispel negative stereotypes.
