Whitby headland the North Abbey overlooking Yorkshire sat on a harbour town, has reopened following a £1.6 million revamp by English Heritage. With a newly designed museum and refreshed visitor centre, there are now greater opportunities to discover the history of the abbey from its 7th-century foundation to its acquisition by the Cholmley family following its dissolution.
