BADMINTON WINNER: HE'S FINALLY DONE IT
It was the win that has seemed possible virtually every year for the past two decades, but many wondered whether it would ever now happen. Andrew Nicholson has been tipped as a Badminton winner innumerable times since his debut on Kahlua and Rubin in 1984. He has taken every other place in the top six, his fantastic cross-country riding making him a master of this supreme event, but never seemed able take his chances and close the circle. His lack of a Badminton win was a glaring omission in a glittering CV. However, this year, In an epic Badminton showdown, the faithful Nereo helped Andrew Nicholson achieve a popular victory, by finally claiming the Badminton trophy after thirty three years of trying.
