In one of my very first Talking Tech articles, I mentioned an app called Welcome. The idea behind this app is that a disabled person can register their details, including information on their disability and what sort of assistance they require. When they visit a venue which has joined the Welcome network, be it a shop, restaurant or leisure facility, they log in, alert the venue of their estimated time of arrival, and the staff are ready and waiting for them, already knowing what they look like and how best to interact with them.
