Assynt - a wild, rugged and incredibly ancient landscape. Bleak and rocky, yet with beautiful sandy beaches and strange, lonely mountains that stand out like giants in a landscape of rock, moor and countless lochans. Even the name Assynt, derived from an Old Norse word meaning ‘ridge end’, reflects this harsh, rocky terrain.
