According to the Scottish Diabetes Survey of 2014, there are around 279,000 people in Scotland diagnosed with diabetes. Many will be susceptible to spells of confusion, irritability and even loss of consciousness due to hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar). 54,000 Scots endure the repeated seizures and associated dangers of epilepsy. Within these two groups of people alone, many would benefit from having a bio-assistance dog.
