Yes, I think poverty safaris are an excellent idea, as it really gives people the chance to learn something about themselves and others. In my opinion there can be nothing more humbling or socially beneficial than enabling young people to experience economic conditions they probably couldn’t even imagine and to meet people they would never otherwise encounter, apart from say in some sort of service relationship, a zero-hours contract or unpaid internship.
