Gelato always played a significant part in family life for the author, chef Lisa Valmorbida, as she was growing up; and she took her passion to the next level when she went to study the art and science of gelato at Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna. After graduation, experience in one of the best gelaterie in Turn followed, before opening her own ice-cream parlour, Pidapipó, in Melbourne, Australia. Making authentic gelato using only fresh fruit, natural flavours and whole milk, Lisa’s recipes are a celebration of gelato at its very best.
