Having a watering system for the polytunnel is a godsend in very hot weather

When it comes to watering kits there is a good range of options and what you buy will vary depending on how much you need to cover, what kind of watering regime you are considering and the limitations of your budget. Kits range from basic to sophisticated, with timers or without, those enabling extensive coverage or just watering on a small scale. Such systems can service plants in the open ground, in greenhouses and polytunnels, in pots, window boxes and hanging baskets, and there are complete hydroponic kits available too.

WHY BOTHER?

Save on time: Watering can take up quite a lot of time, especially in hot weather. And then there’s remembering to do it too! If you have plenty of time on your hands, you may be happy to water manually but if, like many, you have a busy life, time is precious and not having to water manually leaves you free to do other things.
