With the frosty mornings and chillier days, winter has well and truly arrived. So in this issue we’ve got lots of lovely comfort food recipes to warm you up (p.46) as well as some great ideas for easy to make foodie Christmas gifts (p.38) and some delicious ideas for your Christmas dinner this year that I think you’ll love (p.50). We’ve also got some suggestions for feeding our feathered friends over the winter months too (p.32). While on page 88 you can discover more about the gorgeous seals who inhabit our waters and come ashore at this time of year. Plus we meet Scotland’s elusive capercaillie on page 94. As well as all your favourite features, there are some exciting new things happening in this issue and we really want you to get involved because, after all, this is your magazine. We are launching the first ever LandLove Magazine Awards to celebrate our British countryside champions on page 67. From places to visit to food and drink producers, outdoor clothing brands to nature reserves, we want you to vote for your favourites so we can give them the recognition they deserve, and everyone who votes will be entered into our prize draw to win a fantastic three-night break for two in North Yorkshire. Next time you sit down for a cuppa, please take a few minutes to fill out our short survey on page 107. Your opinions really matter to us, we want to hear what you enjoy and want to see in future issues. P.S. You can now find us on Pinterest and Instagram, where the team will be posting inspiring photos from our travels around the countryside and coast, the LandLove allotment, our kitchens and, of course, our four-legged team members. Do join us and share your photos with us.

LandLove celebrates a more traditional way of life and the beauty of the British countryside, its flora and fauna. It offers recipe ideas using seasonal British produce from the market, the garden and the hedgerows. It explores the most interesting places in the British Isles and rediscovers its most fascinating local customs and traditions. It includes practical advice and inspiration for those who tend the garden and love crafts, as well as celebrating the work of traditional craftsmen. Most of all it's a retreat, an escape into a better world.

I loved this magazine when it was in publication but only managed to buy 3 issues before it was discontinued. Delighted to find back copies in a digital format so thank you Pocketmags! Jacquie, Kirkintilloch, Scotland. Reviewed 04 April 2020
