We were all struck by the quality of the winning entries. There were many strong compositions, a wonderful range of ideas, and a fantastic variety of subject matter. We were all pleased to see the ability and skill shown in much of the work.
Artist, tutor and co-owner of Patchings Art Centre, Liz Wood was particularly impressed by the way many of the colouredpencil artists portrayed a sense of movement in their pictures. She also noticed how entrants painted their subjects within the context of their surroundings, rather than presenting them as isolated objects.
