Congragations are being urged to share positive stories of work in local communities in a new initiative launched by the Mission and Discipleship Council of the Church of Scotland.
Congregations are invited to produce a short video of no more than three minutes to tell the story of how they have engaged successfully with their local communities in a bid to encourage and inspire others.
Rob Rawson, Mission Development Worker with the Council, explains: “Ideally, the story will be of a missional nature, but any initiative that has helped the congregation in terms of discipleship or worship will also be welcome. A story about a new toilet, for example, may not be particularly relevant! Those videos that are informative, imaginative and inspiring will then be ‘rewarded’ by being uploaded to the Resourcing Mission website and available for others to see. To encourage everybody, entries will not be judged solely on artistic merit or even on the story itself, but on a combination of the above criteria. Furthermore, a small prize will be awarded to the congregation whose video is considered to be the most informative, imaginative and inspiring!”
