Kickstarting the street food movement in Spain, Ignasi Bisbe, Mar Carnicer and Pilar Carnicer were inspired by their travels in San Francisco, Paris and Berlin to launch Mr Frank and the Butis back in 2011. They went on to create Van Van, a gastronomic street-food market featuring various food trucks, which move around to attend city festivals and events. Mr Frank's menu focuses on the traditional Catalan pork sausage, botifarra, pairing it with Mediterranean ingredients such as dried tomatoes, sobrassada (cured spiced sausage paste from the Balearic Islands), honey and brie. The most popular offering is the 'Butimon' sausage sandwich, their take on the Catalan dish called botifarra amb seques, a grilled pork sausage served with braised white beans.
