“Mati worked and hung out wiThJimi Hendrix, Miles Davis and others, and due to his art he really resonated wiThthe black community of the 60s and 70s in the USA. His admiration for African culture touched a lot of people, including the Black Panthers. Everything was going on in the USA at that time and he believed and connected wiThthe civil rights cause. He used a photo portrait of Malcolm X for that and designed the lettering. It was done wiThoils on canvas.”
