The July Edition features a great article from Michelle, a foster carer for Dog Rescue Newcastle (DRN), about how Rusty’s struggles and triumphs over his fears! Alaskan malamute Rehoming Aid Australia Inc (AMRAA) is featured in the heart-warming story of Austen, an Alaskan Malamute, who was an answer to prayer. A true angel!

We also have the pleasure and honour to introduce Dr Elaine who will be our resident Vet expert! Dr Elaine not only had a fascinating childhood, but you should see what she has accomplished since! There is no stopping this woman. She is not only a qualified Vet, but also a Veterinarian Surgeon and Dental Surgeon, Veterinarian Naturopath and Acupuncturist. Her qualifications don’t stop with Animals! She also has a degree in Education and is now a fully qualified human Naturopath and Acupuncturist. Her innovative, holistic approach to animal care has led to many success stories, of which we have a few ourselves. We have chosen Elaine also for her tireless charity work and support of Rescue groups, oversea missionary work with animals and constant drive to teach! Dr Elaine owns and operates Animal Wellness at Greenslopes, QLD, with a great team of vet nurses!

Our Editor tells the personal story of her own little girl, Gismo. A story of the responsibility and commitment it takes to own a dog. But we don’t really own them do we. We vow to care and look after them. We have adopted Gismo’s eyes as the Eye of Furbabies. Watch out in coming editions for the Smile of Furbabies!
