A Windows installation can get bloated. Wouldn’t you like a fresh OS without losing your stuff? Microsoft’s latest beta has an option dubbed ‘Fix Problems Using Windows Update’.
It installs a new copy of the version you are running without removing your applications or files. You may need to run updates you’ve missed, which arguably is not new. Previously, the process required you to make a bootable flash drive, then be careful about what you selected. This option is one-button. It’s a candidate for inclusion in the next update. Microsoft has been quiet about this, probably because it’s the sort of thing that has definitely got to work first time, and maybe that isn’t quite the case just yet. –CL
