IN THE FINAL INSTALLMENT of this series, we are covering the third machine in the ‘Holy Trinity’ of microcomputers launched in 1977. Tandy/Radio Shack’s TRS-80 was the plucky underdog of the trio but played a big part in helping to establish home computing. Pitched against rivals from Commodore and Apple, the TRS-80 was the cheapest option of the three, bringing computing to the masses long before Commodore would seize the lower market.
