The HEDT market loses its brightest star; Threadripper has put on a suit, and gone professional.

AMD’S THREADRIPPER CHIPS were something of an outsider, sitting between the world of consumer HEDTs and business workstations. AMD markets these 64-core Goliaths as the world’s most powerful desktop processors. The latest 5000-series gains Zen 3 cores. There are three of them: the 64-core Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX, the 32-core 5975WX, and the 24-core 5965WX. AMD has decided to make all Threadrippers ‘Pro’, so you get security features you may not need on a desktop.
