COTA CONTROVERSY MARQUEZ IN FIRING LINE
MotoGP’s race direction has promised tougher penalties for dangerous riding, after the aftermath of the Argentine Grand Prix saw a heated safety commission meeting on Friday night in Texas. Tempers ran high at the meeting, with Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez going toe to toe over the reigning champion’s actions last time out. Promising tougher sanctions for infringements going forwards, Marquez was the first victim of the new rules when he was dropped three places on Sunday’s grid for getting in the way of Maverick Viñales during qualifying.
