Curcumin, the main active constituent in turmeric, is known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant benefits, and now it’s been shown to improve gains in the gym, too. A recent study from Mississippi State University found that supplementation with 1.5g turmeric may reduce muscle damage and soreness with significant reductions in creatine kinase - a marker associated with muscle damage.3 Perceived muscle soreness was also lower, which may enable athletes to work out harder, for longer.
