Not enough progress has been made to address the recommendations made by the Care Quality Commission since its restraint, segregation and seclusion review in 2020, according to the CQC.
In a progress report published in March as a follow-up to the ‘Out of sight – who cares?’ review, the CQC says there are still too many people in hospital, and they often stay too long, do not always experience therapeutic care and are still subject to restrictive interventions.
