The general public considers that mental health should be one of the top priority areas for NHS spending, according to a new survey.
Ipsos MORI found that 58% of respondents said investment in mental health services should be the main priority for additional spending. Only urgent and emergency care such as A&E and ambulance services was considered a higher priority for spending, cited by 68% of respondents.
The survey was commissioned by NHS Providers, NHS Clinical Commissioners, the Royal College of Physicians and National Voices.
