Well, it’s seems that for many of us modelling shows are well and truly back on the agenda. We’ve printed this issue a few days early to bring it to the IPMS UK’s Scale Model World show at Telford and, judging from my Facebook feed, our friends and readers from all across the world have been attending model shows in their own countries. While I recognise that many are still a little anxious about venturing out and attending mass-participation events while COVID is still very much with us, others have decided that the risk to themselves and others is acceptable and have judged the benefits of getting out and socialising with fellow hobbyists too important to forego any longer. For many small hobby businesses the hiatus in holding shows has had a real impact. While at Guideline we have been able to increase the amount of business we do online, it’s still no substitute for getting out there, meeting with our friends, subscribers and readers, and being able to introduce hobbyists to our growing range of books and magazines. I’m sure the same is true of many other small businesses, so if you are thinking of attending a show over the coming months remember that your continued support makes the hobby the thriving thing which we all enjoy. I’m certainly looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones at Telford, at our own shows in London over the weekend of 4 and 5 December, and further afield in the new year.
