Miniature Wargames  |  May 2020 [445]
Issue 445 of Miniature Wargames is packed with scenarios:
Operation Archery is set in Norway: it’s an Exclusive WWII scenario for 1-48TACTIC by Baueda Wargames!
But the exclusive scenarios don’t stop there: for fans of the piratical life we have Smugglers & Hangmen: four skirmishes set in Kent with downloadable rules.
Then we have Herrlisheim WWII: it’s Operation Nordwind set in the snowy Ardennes.
Ammo Dump is a SF Slammers scenario but one that deals with asymmetry and logistics and is adaptable for most gaming backgrounds.
Finally, in Mon Brave! we have a guide to Napoleonic Light Cavalry plus four scenarios for Sharp Practice and Black Powder.
But, if you want to ponder another locale for scenario, how about a Viking raid on England’s South coast? In Command Decision: Benfleet, Jon Sutherland lets you try to push the pesky Norsemen back into the channel!
For yet another different approach to gaming, in Send Three and Fourpence, Conrad Kinch gives us an opportunity to play the last time that two crowned kings of England, Scotland and Ireland faced each other in battle via an adaptation of Command & Colours to play The Battle of the Boyne.
If you want to scratch build we have another practical build: a Thatched Cottage.
The Editor makes a show trip to Hammerhead with extra pictures for readers of the digital edition.
Club Spotlight features the Shrewsbury Wargames Society.
We have the review sections: Defence in Depth for figures and rules, Quartermaster for scenery and accessories and Recce for top notch book reviews.
Plus we have Forward Observer for the latest wargaming news.
The Last Word goes to Gav Thorpe.
